In our lives we all go through good times and bad times that will be tirelessly repeated. I went through one of these cycles and transformed it into this project. It was my story but very well could be yours.
“everything will be ok” is the magical chronicle of a transformation born from a personal crisis, emotional collapse, and fall into the hole in which we have all entered or will enter at some point. But it’s also a story that ends with the positive, with the healing; in the knowledge that in the end, whatever happens, it’s worth living, drink a toast, laugh and surround yourself with people who feel like you.
Through photographs taken over five years, the story is set up to form a classical narrative structure in three acts. The project deals with the halfway point between fiction and reality; continuously crossing the line between documentary and the imaginary, the true and the false, the personal and the unfamiliar.
Alberto Lizaralde has a degree in Advertisement. He worked as a film critic and directed two short films and some cultural live events. He has been photography teacher and online coordinator at BlankPaper School.
Alberto currently lives in Madrid and combines his work as creative director at Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency with his projects in documentary photography.
