“Mediodía” is an orange universe, an imaginary wall in Madrid’s Atocha railway station
David Hornillos lives and works in Madrid. He Studied photography in Blank Paper School and he is a member of the collective Fotoaplauso.
He has received the ARCO 2013 Documentary Photography Prize. He has participated in several exhibitions, among others, “Libros que son fotos, fotos que son libros” Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Madrid), “P2P Prácticas Contemporáneas de la Fotografía Española” Teatro Fernán Gómez, Madrid (Photoespaña 2014), CentroCentro, Palacio de Cibeles, Madrid (Lanzadera, 2015), Centquatre, Paris (Circulations 2016), “On drawing: Apperceive of Liberation”, Wuhan Art Museum, Wuhan (China), “Photography & Resistance. A New Generation of Spanish Photographers” FOMU, Antwerp (Belgium).
His first book, Mediodía (Dalpine) has been published in 2014 and has been nominated for the 2014 Photobook Award Kassel Best Book of the Year and the First Book Award MACK 2014.
