María Sánchez – Ávila, 1977
A house is the own place for the ego, the space containing our personal belongings, experiences, memories. The walls delimit public from private spaces, also they define where identities and stories are created.
Using photomontage, I take pictures from home decorating magazines from another decades, from the 60s and 70s, and I put myself into bedrooms, living rooms… different rooms which were designed as a ideal interior, created to generate desire mechanisms, but now they become possible sets.
Sometimes the images work as memories, conflicting with reminding things not lived.
