The massive and indiscriminate use of the image and its distribution through social networks is a great opportunity for those who use photography as an expression tool today. The new scenario where we live in is redefining photography both as a medium and as a motif, a fact that this work is intended to reflect in a critical, straightforward and understandable way.
The social networks allow us to create a deliberate character in which the photographs that illustrate our profiles often play the role of the “document-trophy”. The autograph-hunters went ahead with this use when beside the autographs, started to collect photos with celebrities and sharing them, building a new intangible but perfectly documented identity. A documentation that – as it happens with photography itself – the viewer is able to read and assume based on the context in which it is shown and the intention of the photographer who is showing it, beyond if it is, or not, a truthful representation of the reality.
This is a work that helps itself from the popular new uses of the image in a straight and ironical way to launch questions and considerations about the present and the future of photography.
