To swim is a concept you can drown in (and by extention the imperative: Not to drown.) Nadar (to swim in spanish) was also a french Master to those who value craft and simplicity in photography. In the infinitive ‘To swim’ is an incantation for those looking to drown their tears in water, and simultaeneously a caress (a stroke) over your entire body. And above all, swimming, as it’s seen through Vari’s lens is an analogous cipher to those secret messages that a crawling baby traces on the living room carpet. (Text by Luis Rey Núñez.
