An infinite horizon stretches out before the eyes and the future of two people who have lost part of their illusion of being together. A never ending road. The beginning of a ferocious attempt to relive a love that time and routine have taken their toll upon. 3000 kilometers of desert, lakes, motels, neons, palm trees and dreams that beat heavily within their hearts.
Marc and Joanna Wallace travel through trivial places, landscapes that speak for themselves. Listening to the silence, re-learning and drowning the poetic road trip with their personalities. Reality and fiction merge softly like a simple yet beautiful dance…. Like the life that flows through the skeptical look in their eyes, maybe once again lightened by illusion. Marc and Joanna live in the landscapes, like the landscapes live in them. They are there, they close their eyes, to reopen them and look again. (Text by Lorena Berdún)
Jerónimo Álvarez lives in Madrid. When he is not working by commision in music covers, editorials or advertising campaigns, he travels with his inseparable camera and takes refuge in personal projects.
He loves American photographers: Richard Avedon’s portraits, Diane Arbus’ dark universe or Stephen Shore’s snap shots. He likes music, films and roads almost as much as his job. That’s why he tries to introduce them in his images whenever possible.
30y3 is an independent platform and archive devoted to spreading and supporting the work of contemporary photographers from Spain and beyond.
